02/06/2017The trophy of the upcoming FIFA confederation cup tournament to take place in Russia in 2017 is in Cameroon as part of a global tour of participating countries.
The trophy arrived the Yaounde Nsimslen International Airport at about 11 pm Thursday, 1st June 2017 on board a special flight.
At moment the trophy is being presented to the public at a grand ceremony at the Yde Military stadium. Speeches are expected from the Lions captain, Fecafoot boss, the Minister of Sports and Physical Education and Fifa representative.
The trophy tour is a novelty intended to whet appetites and whip up euphoria ahead the event that begins on June 17 and ends on July 02, 2017. Cameroon will be at its 3rd participation in the competition.
The last participation was in 2003 when Cameroon ended up runners up loosing to France at the final.
